The new, sixth-generation Nissan Micra will start at £22,995 – the same price as the mechanically identical Renault 5.
On sale from September, the new all-electric city car promises a range of up to 260 miles on a single battery charge, and the pricing is, perhaps unsurprisingly, no different to the latest Renault 5, with which it shares its mechanically underpinnings.
The French-built Micra will come with a choice of three-trims and two powertrains, and as well as the Renault, it'll be a rival for other small electric hatchbacks including the Fiat 500e and the Hyundai Inster.
The arrival Micra follows the unveiling of the all-new Nissan Leaf – now an SUV – and the news that a new Nissan Juke is on the way.
New 2025 Nissan Micra: price and release date
The new Nissan Micra will go on sale from 1 September. Prices start at £22,995 for the entry-level Engage trim with a 40kWh battery, rising to £24,995 for the mid-spec Advance trim, or £26,995 for the Advance with a larger 52kWh battery. The top-spec Evolve trim, which is only available with the larger battery, starts at £29,865.

New 2025 Nissan Micra: exterior and interior
The new Nissan Micra has a look that gives a big nod to the bubbly, cutesy K12-generation Micra of the 2000s, with big round LED running lights that encircle the main headlights. However, it also bears a strong resemblance to the Renault 5, with which it shares numerous components. It's 3974mm long, 2020mm wide including mirrors and 1499mm high. All versions ride on 18-inch wheels – steel units on the entry-level model and alloys on the rest. The rear door handles are hidden in the C-pillar.
The inside, again, shares much with the Renault 5, with two 10-inch screens joined together atop the dashboard and the new NissanConnect infotainment system, which is very similar to Renault's setup and includes various Google systems built-in. The boot measures 326 litres in capacity, which is pretty standard for this type of car. Drop the back seats and that rise to 1106 litres.

New 2025 Nissan Micra: motors and batteries
The new Nissan Micra will get a choice of 40kWh and 52kWh batteries, the former with a 198-mile range and the latter managing up to 260 miles. The smaller battery comes with a 122PS motor with 225Nm of torque, while the larger battery sends its power to a 150PS motor with 245Nm. Performance figures haven't yet been revealed yet, although the power difference will be at least slightly offset by a 124kg weight penalty for the longer-range model.
The Micra will have an 80kW DC charger on the 40kWh model and a 100kW charger on the 52kWh version. That means charging from 15% to 80% takes 30 minutes. A heat pump is standard, and both models will feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) tech, which lets you power external devices from a three-pin socket.

New 2025 Nissan Micra: trim levels
The Micra will be available in three trim levels – Engage, Advance and Evolve. The Engage trim, which is only available with the smaller 40kWh battery, features the smaller 7-inch digital driver display (other models get a 10.1-inch unit), automatic air conditioning and a four-speaker sound system.
The Advance trim – available with either battery – features adaptive cruise control, ambient interior lighting with 48 colour combinations, a wireless phone charger and a rear-view camera. The top-spec Micra Evolve has two-tone paint as standard and an upgraded Harman Kardon sound system. The front seats and steering wheel are heated, and Nissan's ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link system is also included, which is a more advanced version of adaptive cruise control.
