DS has given is DS 4 a substantial overhaul, introducing a pure electric model and changing the name, too.
Now known as the DS No4, the new model has a new look, and a choice of hybrid, plug-in hybrid or pure electric powertrains. Under the surface, it's the same car as the DS 4 introduced back in 2021, but there have been multiple updates to keep it fresh against rivals such as the Volkswagen Golf, the Peugeot 308 and E-308, the Audi A3, the BMW 1 Series and more.
The headline revision is the arrival of the DS No4 E-Tense model, an all-electric car with a range of up to 279 miles on a single charge. Across the rest of the range – which includes a plug-in hybrid with a 50-mile electric range, and a hybrid – there are four trims to choose from, all promising a refined interior with lots of standard features.

Updated 2025 DS No4: engines, gearboxes, motors, and batteries
The most affordable way to own a DS No4 is with the Hybrid model, which uses a 1.2-litre, turbocharged, three-cylinder petrol engine, with a 28PS electric motor integrated into a six-speed, dual-clutch automatic gearbox. That gives it a total power output of 145PS, and DS says it can run in electric mode for up to half the time when driving around a town or city.
The plug-in hybrid model uses a four-cylinder, 1.6-litre petrol engine with 180PS and a 110PS electric motor, giving a combined output of 225PS and 360Nm of torque. Officially, it can manage up to 50 miles of electric-only driving with a fully charged battery.
Meanwhile, the E-Tense all-electric model has a 213PS, 343Nm motor with a 58kWh battery, giving it a range of up to 279 miles. DS says it'll charge from 20% to 80% in less than 30 minutes on a 100kW DC charger.

Updated 2025 DS No4: trim levels
There are four trim levels available on the DS No4, although only three per variant. You can see which trims are available on which powertrains in the prices listed above.
The Pallas trim, which comes only with the E-Tense electric model, has a "diamond tungsten" fabric upholstery, and features dual-zone climate control, heated and folding door mirrors, adaptive cruise congtrol, front and rear parking sensors with a reversing camera, and acoustic laminated side windows to reduce road noise.
The Pallas+ trim, which is available on all versions, has a 3D connected navigation system, wireless phone charging, and keyless entry and start. E-Tense versions also get a heat pump.
On the Etoile trim you'll find Alcantara seat upholstery and more of it on the dashboard and door panels, with a head-up display inside to project driving information onto the windscreen. The front seats adjust electrically and there a rear-traffic detection system for added safety.
The top-spec Etoile Nappa trim, available on the Hybrid and the plug-in, has Criollo Brown Nappa leather seats, a heated steering wheel and heated from seats.
